Frequently asked questions

Last updated: May 2026

A 3-year UK visa for founders launching innovative, viable, and scalable businesses. There is no minimum investment requirement at the visa stage, but the business must be endorsed by a Home Office-approved endorsing body and meet 12- and 24-month progress reviews. Leads to settlement after 3 years if criteria are met.

You set up a UK company, secure a sponsor licence from the Home Office, and the company then sponsors your Skilled Worker visa. The role must be genuine, at RQF Level 6+, and meet the £41,700 salary threshold (or higher going rate). Leads to settlement after 5 years.

A family of routes (Expansion Worker, Senior/Specialist Worker, Graduate Trainee, UK Expansion Worker, and others) for overseas businesses sending staff to the UK. Most require 12+ months prior employment with the same group. Permits up to 5 years’ stay; doesn’t lead directly to settlement.

Yes. Endorsement from a Home Office-approved body is mandatory before you can apply. The pool of active endorsing bodies is narrow, so endorsement strategy is critical to success. We help you target the right body and prepare a strong submission.

As of 22 July 2025, the general threshold is £41,700 per year — or the going rate for the role’s SOC code, whichever is higher. Reduced thresholds (e.g. £33,400) may apply for new entrants, Immigration Salary List roles, or PhD-level positions. Health and Care Worker roles have separate thresholds starting around £25,000.

Yes, on most routes. Partners and dependent children under 18 can usually accompany or join you on Innovator Founder, Skilled Worker, Global Talent, and most Global Business Mobility routes. Each dependant requires their own application.

Typically 8 weeks for a standard application, though priority service can reduce this to 10 working days for an additional fee. You’ll need to provide 4+ supporting documents proving your business is genuine and trading. We handle the full submission and any follow-up requests.

Yes. Endorsed Global Talent holders can apply for indefinite leave to remain after 3 years (Exceptional Talent route) or 5 years (Exceptional Promise route). The route is particularly flexible — you can work for multiple ventures and switch employers without notifying the Home Office.

Timelines vary by route. Sponsor licence: 8 weeks. Innovator Founder endorsement: 4-12 weeks depending on the body. Visa decisions: 3-8 weeks. We’ll map out a realistic timeline for your specific case in the initial consultation.
