As of 22 July 2025, the general threshold is £41,700 per year — or the going rate for the role’s SOC code, whichever is higher. Reduced thresholds (e.g. £33,400) may apply for new entrants, Immigration Salary List roles, or PhD-level positions. Health and Care Worker roles have separate thresholds starting around £25,000.
